Shimon Waldfogel, MD is a board-certified psychiatrist who is an assistant professor at Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia, Pa. He was an attending psychiatrist at Abington- Jefferson Health in Abington PA, now retired. Shimon received his medical training at Ben-Gurion University in Israel and his residency training in psychiatry at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital. He has an interest in the role spirituality and religion play for individuals and groups. Shimon is interested in the role the environment plays in cognitive function. Shimon was involved in the founding of the Myrna Brind Center of Integrative Medicine at Jefferson. Influenced by his mentor, Dr. Aaron Antonovsky, Shimon is actively engaged in exploring the role of Salutogenesis in our society and the potential of citizens to impact societal well-being.
