I’m Harshita – a researcher, writer, and artist. As an aspiring doctor, I’ve started to dedicate my life towards practicing medicine, studying it’s history, philosophies, and people in hopes of being a holistic Neurologist. My experiences as a Crisis Text Line counselor, hospice volunteer, and president for the South Asian mental health organization, MannMukti at my university, enabled me to study mental health from a diversity of perspectives and approach them with creative solutions. My passion lies in understanding others and making sure they feel understood.
My undergraduate research focused on alcohol and sexual assault prevention where I assessed the feasibility and effectiveness of teaching breathing skills to target suicidal urges while intoxicated.
Currently, My Master’s research is in computational and cognitive neuroscience.
